Yoga, the Remedy for HIIT

For the past few years, I have been doing HIIT (High-intensity Interval Training). In December, I was diagnosed with mild bursitis around my right hip joint. It was painful. I received a cortisone shot and physical therapy. Safe to say, no HIIT for a while. (I am firm believer of learning from yours and others life experiences. Most of my friends who do HIIT suffered harsher injuries that I. A light bulb went off.) It was time for a change.

I liked the stretching during therapy so I researched and tried yoga following the end of physical therapy. I bought (overbought) several DVDs and finally settled on a few to rotate during the week.

The benefits of yoga come slowly, in stages. I have more flexibility, strength, and more speed when I run and sprint. I also recover faster when I forget that I should not do HIIT, but do it anyways.
